There’s a Place for Everyone in the 2026–2027 Ladysmith Chemainus Swim Club Season

Whether your child is just discovering the joy of swimming, looking to build confidence in the water, or dreaming of racing competitively, Ladysmith Chemainus Swim Club (LCSC) has a place for them.
As we get ready for the 2026–2027 swim season, we’re excited to offer programs designed to welcome swimmers of different ages, abilities, experience levels and goals. You don’t have to be the fastest swimmer in the pool to be part of a swim club. You simply need a willingness to learn, have fun and keep moving forward.
A Program for Every Swimmer
Swimming is one of those unique sports where there really is something for everyone.
Our programs provide opportunities for swimmers who are:
- New to competitive swimming and ready to take the next step from lessons.
- Looking to build skills and confidence while becoming stronger and more comfortable in the water.
- Interested in fitness and lifelong swimming, without the focus being solely on competition.
- Competitive swimmers who want to challenge themselves, improve their technique and race at local, regional, provincial and national competitions.
- Experienced athletes looking to set goals, develop discipline and see how far their swimming can take them.

At LCSC, success isn't measured only by medals or finishing times. It can be learning a new stroke, swimming a personal best, completing a challenging workout, making a new friend or simply becoming more confident in the water. The Benefits Go Far Beyond the Pool
Swimming is an incredible sport for developing the whole person.
🏊 Physical Fitness
Swimming builds cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. Because it is a low-impact activity, it can be enjoyed by children and athletes of many ages and abilities.
💪 Strength and Resilience
Moving through the water isn't easy! Swimming challenges the entire body and teaches athletes to keep working when a workout becomes difficult. Over time, swimmers develop physical and mental resilience that carries into other areas of life.
🧠 Focus and Confidence
Swimming requires concentration, attention to technique and the ability to set and work toward goals. Seeing improvement—whether it's mastering a skill or achieving a personal best—can be a powerful confidence builder.
🤝 Friendship and Belonging
One of the greatest benefits of joining a swim club is becoming part of a team. Swimmers train together, travel together, celebrate successes and support one another through challenges. The friendships made at the pool can last well beyond a single season.
🎯 Goal Setting and Discipline
Swimming provides countless opportunities to set goals. Whether the goal is to learn a new skill, improve a stroke, qualify for a championship meet or simply become fitter, swimmers learn that consistent effort leads to progress.
❤️ A Lifelong Relationship with the Water
Swimming is more than a sport—it is an essential life skill. Developing strong swimming abilities helps children become safer and more comfortable around water while giving them an activity they can enjoy throughout their lives.
More Than Just Swimming
Joining LCSC is about more than showing up for practice. It's about becoming part of a community that encourages swimmers to challenge themselves, support each other and celebrate progress. For some swimmers, that may mean discovering a passion for competition. For others, it may mean becoming stronger, more confident and comfortable in the water. And for many, it will simply mean finding a team where they feel like they belong. There is no single definition of success.
Your goals are your goals—and we're here to help you achieve them.
