The Swim challenge is a mandatory all swimmer fundraising event happening on Friday April 1 between 3:30-6:00pm (even if this is not their regular day) with the potluck from 6:00-8:00pm at Aggie Hall. Each swimmer brings a "counter" with them - someone to count their lengths which is important if the swimmer was supported with a amount per length pledge.  The swimmers will swim for 2 hours (or 200 lengths - whichever comes first).  Afterward there is a potluck celebration at Aggie Hall and prizes are awarded for top fundraisers and other categories.  If for some reason your swimmer cannot participate on April 1 please let Coach Brandon know. Please sign up to bring a food item.

The swim challenge is also a great opportunity to see how much your swimmers endurance has increased over the season.  More information will be coming out about the swim challenge and there is a pledge package for each swimmer.  Have your swimmer ask Coach Brandon for a Swim Challenge package if you haven't received one yet.

Fundraising Commitment: Each swimmer is charged $100 as the fundraising minimum for this event.  Throughout March swimmers are encouraged to seek out donations from friends, family members, or members of the community such as neighbours.  Supporters can pledge a flat amount (usually $5-20 or an amount per length $0.10-0.25 per length although we've had a couple pledges of $1.00 per length which is awesome). The swimmer's family would keep the first $100 raised from collecting pledges and submit anything over and above that amount.  In the past many swimmers have fundraise between $150-400 so this gives you the opportunity to recoup the $100 but for those who would rather not fundraise it meets the $100 commitment.  As a reminder, LCSC is a not-for-profit and relies heavily on fundraising efforts to support operating costs.
