Program Costs and Additional Fees
Program costs can be paid as an annual fee or through 10 monthly installments throughout the season. These fees are used to cover program cost such as pool rental fees, coach costs, equipment and supplies, and other club requirements through the season. Other fees are noted below.
Registration Fee
A one-time registration fee is required of each swimmer at the time of registration.
SwimBC Insurance
SwimBC provides insurance to swimmers within the program. This insurance fee is a requirement for all swimmers to participate in the program. This fee is based on the swimmers age at the start of the season and determined by SwimBC.
Fundraising
As a non-profit organization fundraising is a necessary part of LCSC and a significant portion of the club's budget. The funds raised help to provide equipment, cover rental fees, and other organizational expenses. Families will be required to participate in all fundraisers including the Swim Challenge and annual lottery. Other fundraising opportunities may be required based on operation and financial need.
Volunteer Commitment
Support from the membership is required to meet all the needs of the club throughout the season. Active parent participation, knowledge, and experience are the most valuable tools at the clubs disposal. Each family will be required to provide at least 5 hours of volunteer time through various opportunities. Families will be able to sign up for committments that match their skill and schedule.
AGM
Families are required to provide a $75.00 retainer to ensure their participation in the Annual General Meeting (usually held in October). The executive board members are elected at the AGM. There are several positions that are required to be filled to ensure the club can run. Families who send a representative to the meeting will be refunded the $75.
Swim Meet Fees
There are many swim meets throughout the season and swimmers are encouraged to attend. Each meet has a cost per swimmer that will be charged backed to the families. Meet fees are around $40-$75/meet.
